Dog in a "Middle" Position with Handler

our story

Laeo and Mowgli met almost five years ago, the day after Mowgli was born off the coast of Ecuador. American Village Dogs are among the few domestic animals still highly influenced by natural selection, and the results are independent, fierce, and stubborn dogs. Even with a strong professional background in the science of animal behavior and training, it was a tall order for Laeo to raise Mo while living nomadically, for a partnership that would eventually include tasking and medical alerts. Years of blood, sweat, tears, setbacks, and continuing education later, they did it. This team works tirelessly to acquire new skills and help each other find ease in the next set of challenges.

Methods and ethics are a hot topic in dog training these days, and rightly so. In an unregulated industry, it's hard to know whom to trust. The science of animal behavior is both well-established and ever-evolving. We are committed to staying up to date with developments in this field, ensuring we provide our clients with the most compassionate and practical training possible. We encourage our clients to bring any questions and concerns they may have about this topic as we collaborate on your dog's behavioral modification program. There are no cookie-cutter approaches; we are always training the human-dog team in front of us, precisely as they are that day. Regardless of how we proceed with your dog, our methods align with current industry standards as outlined in the CCPDT's Standards of Practice.
